Financial Aid (FAFSA):

All Worker Retraining students are required to apply and complete a financial aid file - FAFSA or WASFA for 2023-2024, which is good for summer quarter 2023 through spring quarter 2024.

It is also time to apply for financial aid - FAFSA or WASFA for 2024-2025, which is good for summer quarter 2024 through spring quarter 2025.  You can apply for both years.

For additional information, please visit the financial aid website.

Income Recalculation:

If you have had a significant change to your income you could be eligible for an income recalculation. You will find the form on the financial aid website. We use the new information to recalculate your eligibility for financial aid. In many cases WR students become eligible for financial aid grants. Before we process a recalculation, you must have a completed financial aid file.  In many cases students who were not originally eligible for regular financial aid become eligible after completing the Income Recalculation process.

Worker Retraining Tuition Assistance:

WR tuition and book assistance is generally available for 1-2 quarters.  In some cases we may be able to award additional quarters of assistance.  This will be on a case by case basis. To be eligible for funding you need to be following your Academic Plan.  Your plan is a quarter by quarter listing of the classes needed for your degree or certificate.  If you have updates or changes to your plan, please let us know.  Again, make sure you have applied for regular financial aid - FAFSA or WASFA  for 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.

Please make sure you check with us prior to each quarter to see your status for tuition and book assistance for the upcoming quarter.  It is your responsibility to make sure that you have your tuition covered each quarter you are enrolled.  You will also be notified by the Cashier Office if your tuition has not been paid.

Employment Security:

Becky Schrader  is the Employment Security representative located part-time at Edmonds College in MLT 130, (425) 640-1408.  She  is here to help students complete their paperwork for Commissioner Approved Training (CAT) and Training Benefits (TB).  If you have questions regarding letters and other documentation from the Employment Security Department (ESD), feel free to contact Becky.
