Alice Nawas
I started my Edmonds College journey in the Summer of 2018. I am a non-traditional student who came back to school in my 40s. When I started I was focused on 2 small Certificates: one in Project Management and the other in Entrepreneur/Small Business Management. That morphed into the 2-year non-transferable Business Management degree which parlayed into the Business Management AAS-T which I graduated with in 2022. I chose Edmonds College because it was close to home and growing up in the area Edmonds always had a fantastic reputation.

I have a long history with Edmonds College; I first started as a Running Start student in 2013 from Lynnwood High School. I selected Edmonds because my mom was also attending here at the time. I graduated with a Science Track 1 DTA in 2018 where I then graduated from WWU with a BS in Environmental Science in 2020. I started back this Fall 2023 for a business DTA with the intent to become an accounting auditor in my future. I chose to come back to Edmonds due to the familiarity and the community that I was previously able to build on campus. I loved the amount of support I got while trying to figure out college as a first-generation college student.

I’m a first-generation student who’s seeking an Associate’s in Construction Management. I started attending Edmonds in January of 2021. I came to Edmonds because as someone who was working 40 hours, I needed a program that could work around my schedule. I’ve had to navigate the college system on my own and I would love to help someone through it now.

I'm an International student from Brazil, and I appreciate how Edmonds College welcomes International students so well and provides us with many resources to succeed. I started my studies in Spring 2023, and my major is Pre-Nursing. So far, I've made good friends here, and my professors know me by name, which makes me feel valued. I hope to finish my Associate's degree here so I can maintain my friendships throughout my journey.
