The Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance (PNAA) has established an Edmonds Community College Foundation scholarship to support students studying in fields related to the aerospace industry.
“PNAA is supporting education for the next generation of aerospace industry leaders. We are proud to announce the formation of our new PNAA Scholarship Fund, which we have created to assist deserving students. This year we established scholarships at the community colleges of South Seattle, Edmonds, Green River, Everett, and Spokane,” said PNAA chairman Kevin Steck.
At Edmonds Community College, a student will be chosen to receive the $500 scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year. Apply online for an Edmonds Community College Foundation scholarship next winter. The college offers aerospace training programs in manufacturing and materials science. Graduates have gone on to work for aerospace companies including The Boeing Co., C & D Zodiac, Inc., and Intec. In addition, the college has a newly established Aerospace Training Center.
The PNAA is a nonprofit organization promoting growth and success of the aerospace industry in the northwest region of the United States. It announced the creation of its scholarship fund in February at the organization’s annual conference in Lynnwood, Wash.
For students interested in attending Edmonds Community College in 2010-11, it’s time to apply for all Foundation scholarships. While the new aerospace award will not be available until the 2011-12 school year, the Foundation is now accepting applications for its scholarship program, which includes more than 20 opportunities to receive awards.
Students complete one online application to be considered for all of the Foundation’s available scholarships. Submit applications before 4 p.m., Fri., April 9. Apply at www.edcc.edu/foundation.
