Financial Aid Services

Receiving your Aid

Eligible applicants will be sent an email (EdMail) when awarded. You can view your awards on your Financial Aid Portal. The awards will indicate the kind and amount of aid awarded from each funding program. Each quarter, after you are awarded, we first pay any tuition, fees, and housing that you may owe to the college. If there is a remaining balance, also referred to as a financial aid refund, BankMobile will send it to you according to the refund selection you choose.

All awards are offered with the assumption of full time enrollment (12 credits or more). That doesn't mean that you have to be enrolled in 12 or more credits to receive Financial Aid. Your payment depends on the number of credits you are taking.

All of your classes must be required for your program of study (or a pre-requisite to a required class) to receive funding. If you are unsure, review your program requirement sheet for the program you are working on or talk with an Academic or Program Advisor.

Grants:

12 credits or more: 100%
9-11 credits: 75%
6-8 credits: 50%
1-5 credits: 25%

If you are attending at less than full time (12 credits or more), and want to receive your funding before the quarter starts, then you must submit an Information Change Form before the start of the quarter. If you do not submit that form your funds will be delayed.

Your class schedule must be finalized by the 5th day of the quarter (last day for 100% refund), also referred to as the Financial Aid Census date. If you drop classes on or before the 5th day of the quarter you may owe funding back to financial aid and be placed on warning, or terminated from future aid. You must attend all classes to be eligible, so this also includes cancelled classes and late start classes. If a class is cancelled or you do not attend a class, you may also owe a repayment of funds. If you add a class after the census day, you will have to pay for that class out of your own pocket.

EdMail: You are required to use it! It is the way we communicate with you.

The college assigns all students EdMail (email) accounts within a couple of days after they register for their first class. Note: if you are a former student returning after time away from school, check with the Enrollment Services Office to confirm what email address we have on file for you. We use the address recorded in the Enrollment Services records. To gain access to your account, follow the steps at www.edcc.edu/edmail.
