Building Operations and Maintenance for Energy Efficiency

A person with a Building Operations and Maintenance short certificate from Edmonds Community College can earn the nationally recognized BOC, Building Operator's Certification, Level I, after also finishing one year of related work experience in the field of commercial building operation and maintenance.  The BOC Level I coursework and tests are woven throughout the Building Operations and Maintenance for Energy Efficiency short certificate.  At this time, you do not have to take an additional test to qualify if you successfully complete the coursework.

BOC is a national workforce training and credential program offering job skills in energy efficient building operation and maintenance practices. Certification is competency-based and offered on two levels. Level I emphasizes energy-efficient building maintenance practices. Level II focuses on advanced equipment troubleshooting and maintenance. Other experience and education may be substituted as noted on the BOC website.

BOC is administered by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council in this region.
