The Edmonds Community College Volunteer Literacy Program was established in 2007 with a grant from The Verizon Foundation. The program helps adults in Snohomish County improve their English and math skills. Community volunteers usually commit two hours per week for three months to work with adults taking ESL and/or GED classes at the college. These classes prepare individuals for certificate programs, college-level classes, and better paying, in-demand jobs in our community. In return, the volunteers receive training and support and make a difference in the community.
