Residency Requirements
For tuition purposes, a resident student:
- has lived in Washington state for other than educational purposes for one year and is financially independent
- is a financially dependent student and has one or both parents or legal guardian who have lived in Washington state for at least one year
Exemption from all or a portion of non-resident tuition is granted to a student who:
- is an alien (any person not a citizen of the United States) having refugee classification from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service or the spouse or dependent child of such refugee.
To obtain residency or to change residency status, an individual must complete a Residence Questionnaire form, which can be obtained at the Enrollment Services Office or by downloading the form here
and following the instructions.
Non-Citizens
Students who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. immigrants are advised by the International Student Services (ISS) Office. The
ISS program requires a special admissions application to be filled out prior to
registration. The ISS Office is located in the North Duplex and is open daily
