Mission:
The Distance Learning Faculty Mentors research and identify appropriate technologies for use in our learning environments. We provide a practical framework for the use of instructional technologies in teaching and learning and encourage the discussion of pedagogy and instructional practice.
Goals:
- Evaluate and compare learning management systems
- Work with the Accreditation self-study
- Define standards for the development of Learning Objects or shared content
- Develop a flexible degree option with specific online courses guaranteed in the annual schedule
The Mentors responsibilities include:
- Serve as a resource to faculty designing distance-delivered courses, particularly online courses.
- In concert with the TRC consult on the development of curriculum for distance learning.
- Share ideas about distance learning curriculum development with faculty across disciplines.
- Support and work closely with the Distance Learning Office staff.
- Participate in distance learning workshops, forums, and/or presentations.
- Assist in the development of distance learning resources and training materials for faculty (gathering materials that EdCC faculty have already created, researching what resources are available at other institutions, etc.).
- Collect data on distance learning trends.
- Help in the collection of best-practice resources for faculty to use.

Meet the TRC Staff
The Technology Resource Center (TRC) is now located on the second floor of Lynnwood Hall in room 207. The TRC is open and staffed daily during each academic quarter.
