Climate Commitment

In June 2008, President Jack Oharah signed the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment , committing the college to becoming a climate-neutral institution.

The commitment has 3 major goals:

1. Initiate development of comprehensive plan to achieve climate neutrality as soon as possible
2. Initiate two or more of the following tangible actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while comprehensive plan is being developed.
3. Make action plan, inventory, and periodic progress reports publicly available by providing them to the Association of the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) for posting and dissemination.

We have reported our baseline Carbon Footprint through the Climate Commitment reporting system. We have submitted several Carbon Footprint per the requirements of the Department of Ecology in Washington. To see reports, click on Reporting.
