Sustainability Curriculum Showcase
Earth/Sustainability Month 2009
April 15 - May 15
We are working hard to integetrate sustainability operationally on our campus, but we are also dedicated to teaching these concepts to our community. In addition to some degrees and classes that are focused on sustainable concepts, we have many faculty who are adding an assignment or two that explore sustainability in some way in their classes. We would like to celebrate this curriculum work as well as encourage others to explore sustainability as a opportunity for learning.
Send us your assignments that help to promote sustainability for posting on this website and be eligible to win hanging baskets from the Greenhouse and other cool prizes.
There are several helpful links and references listed here to get you started if you need some help identifying and incorporating topics and issues on sustainability into a course or curriculum. Please submit your ideas, including your name, the class number and title, and brief explanation of your topic to Alison Pugh for listing here on the “Curriculum” page. The faculty with the most innovative curriculum idea will be awarded a 12” fuchsia basket! There are also several other activities taking place during the week of Earth Day and into the month of May that may interest you and your students. Consult the events portion of this web site for details. If you need more information on the Sustainability Curriculum Showcase, please email Holly Hughes or Alison Pugh.
