2010 Commencement Ceremony

Commencement is a ceremony held annually in June for students having completed requirements for a degree or certificate and is coordinated by Student Programs. Students planning to attend the Commencement Ceremony should do the following:

Commencement provides an opportunity for the people who have been involved with your education to celebrate your success at Edmonds Community College.
Final Steps to GraduationAny student who will have completed requirements for a degree, certificate or diploma by the end of summer or fall quarter 2009 or by winter, spring or summer quarter 2010, may participate in the commencement ceremony. Make sure your graduation is official. Follow these steps:

Step Up to CommencementAbout the ceremony Special accommodations If you or your guests need disability accommodations, please contact the Office of Student Life at BRI 252 or call (425) 640-1581. Photos Professional photos of each graduate will be taken as the student crosses the stage. Proofs will be available online. It’s your decision whether you purchase your photograph. What You Need to DoPurchase your cap, gown and tassel We want you to participate in commencement! You’ll need to wear the college’s cap and gown for the ceremony. Purchase your cap, gown and tassel starting April 20 from the college bookstore for $30. Please visit the online bookstore, email bookstore@edcc.edu or call (425) 640-1672. A limited number of free announcements are also available at the Office of Student Life. Graduating with HonorsAcademic honors If you have earned a grade point average of 3.8 in college-level courses (numbered 100 or above) through winter quarter 2009 at Edmonds Community College, which apply to your degree or certificate, you may graduate with honors. Pick up your honor cord at the OSL, BRI 252, June 15 - 18. Phi Theta Kappa Students who have the required number of associate degree credits and a 3.5 cumulative college-level g.p.a. may join Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society. Membership costs $62.
