If you are eligible for financial aid, this can be very helpful towards your trip. Financial aid can help cover your Edmonds Community College tuition and some of the program fees. Several students have been able to study abroad thanks to financial aid.
There are several scholarships available to students who wish to study abroad. It is very important to start searching for scholarships early. Plan to apply at least six months before the start of your program.
Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship | Apply by March 5 for Summer/Fall
More than 2,300 scholarships of up to $5,000 are given to undergraduates who want to study abroad. Plan to apply for this scholarship five to six months ahead. The deadline for winter and spring is Oct. 2. Apply now!
The WCCCSA Scholarship | Deadlines will be available soon
Generally offered for each study abroad program. Students must have applied to the program to be eligible for a $750 scholarship.
Foundation for Global Scholars | Apply by Nov. 30 for Winter/Spring
Each scholarship is different and ranges from $500-$2,500.Application deadlines:
- winter/spring — Nov. 30, 2012
- summer — March 31, 2013

Many provide assistance that is targeted to specific student populations (underrepresented student groups; African Americans; Asian Americans; Latino/Latina Americans; Native Americans; students with disabilities; gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered students).
