Sociology
Welcome
The Department of Sociology offers a variety of first- and second-year level courses that examine how our life experiences are shaped by the society in which we live and how we, in turn, influence and shape our social surroundings.
In our courses, you will find opportunities to develop your skills in written and oral communication, critical thinking, group interaction, and quantitative reasoning-all central to a liberal arts education and at the heart of what it means to be an educated citizen in a multicultural world.
If you are a transfer student, our courses provide excellent preparation for success at colleges and universities across the country.
NEW for Fall 2002
Socio200, Research Methods and Statistics will be first offered Fall 2002. This course fills not only a Social Science Distribution and Cultural Diversity requirement, as do all of our courses, but it can also be used to fill a Quantitative Reasoning requirement.
