Lynnwood Police Department has made an arrest. The suspect was identified by the victim. Details will be posted as they become available from the police department.
Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - A Community Transit bus driver has reported an assault this morning, Tues., June 28 at about 10:30 a.m. in the first floor Alderwood Hall men’s restroom.
Lynnwood Police Department has responded. They are working with Campus Security.
The suspect description is a six foot tall black male in his late teens/early 20s wearing a black coat and black hat.
Anyone with information to report should call campus security at 425.754.0154 or in the case of emergency 911.
The driver reports he was hit over the back of the head. He did not require immediate medical assistance.
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 - On Thursday June 9 and Monday June 13 2011, LPD arrested a student and a formal student for committing theft in Seaview Hall. Both incidents were caught on camera and was submitted for evidence.
Please remember and remind your fellow students and co-workers NOT to leave your personal belongings where other people could easily steal them.
Monday, June 6, 2011 — There was a bear on the loose in the area and Lynnwood PD had to put it down.......no threat to the college community.
Tuesday, May 31, 2011 - Between 9-9:24 a.m., a robbery that involved a knife and pepper spray took place on the first floor of Alderwood Hall in the men's restroom. The male victim, an Edmonds Community College student, was transported to Swedish/Edmonds with non-life threatening wounds.
The Lynnwood Police Department established a crime scene perimeter and began a search. They are investigating.
The suspect is reported to be a black male, 5'8 inches, with a thin build and short hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a black top, backpack, and dark-colored pants.
Anyone with information about this crime should contact Lynnwood Police Department's Detective Dilworth at 425.670.5619 (Case #11-3845).
The college will work closely with the Lynnwood Police Department to ensure student safety and will keep the campus community updated on this crime as new information is received.
The college remained open and no classes were cancelled as a result of this incident.
This is the first time in recent memory there has been an assault with a weapon on the Edmonds Community College campus.
The college has three uniformed security officers as well as a part-time student security officer typically patrol the college campus while classes are in session.
Security patrols around the clock include hourly walkthroughs of the college buildings and grounds.
