Campus Alert Status

Friday, December 7, 2007 — This is an update to yesterday’s alert concerning the possible assault on campus from the Lynnwood Police Department. The police continued to work the case overnight and developed the following information: the report of the assault on campus was fabricated by the person making the report. There was no assault. Charges for false reporting by the individual who reported being assaulted will be referred to the prosecutor. Even though this incident did not happen as reported, it is important that we all remain vigilant on campus and report suspicious/strange circumstances to security and be aware of our surroundings. We appreciate your assistance in continuing to have our campus be a safe place.

Thursday, December 6, 2007 — About 7:30 p.m. a female student reported being assaulted by an unknown male outside of Mountlake Terrace Hall. Lynnwood Police responded immediately and are conducting an investigation of the incident. It is important to report suspicious activity to the Security Office and everyone should be aware the Security Officers do provide escorts to those who request them. You can contact the on-duty Security Officer at 425-754-0154. If anyone witnessed any suspicious behavior about the time of this incident, you are encouraged to contact the Security Department with that information.
