Examines values and assumptions in cultural texts that have helped shape characteristics called "American." Prerequisite: Placement in ENGL& 101 (was ENGL 105).
Analysis and appreciation of film techniques and aesthetics, including historical background of selected films, literary criteria and major cinematic movements. Prerequisite: Placement in ENGL 100 or above.
Study of the principal myths found in classical and diverse literature with some attention to psychological analysis. Prerequisite: Completion of ENGL 100 with a grade of 2.0 or higher or placement in ENGL& 101 (was ENGL 105).
