Running Start
The Running Start program provides a wonderful opportunity for eligible high school juniors and seniors to attend college courses numbered 100 or above, tuition-free, while completing high school.
Running Start is designed for students who are:
- Ready for college-level work.
- Motivated to take classes that apply toward both high school graduation and a college degree.
- Seeking academic challenges not available at their high school.
Program Highlights:
- Over 500 students per quarter
- 35 high schools from 17 school districts
- 11 credits is the average quarterly credit load
- Approximately 250 students attend college full-time
- Course completion rate averages between 85%-90%
- Average grade point hovers around a 3.0 gpa
