Running Start

What's Expected of You

Withdrawal

It is the students' responsibility to formally withdraw from class(es) at Enrollment Services. Withdrawals should be done by the 10th day of the quarter to comply with the Running Start Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.

Progress Policy

Student Responsibility

Students will be expected to be prepared for class, ask questions, meet class deadlines and conduct themselves as responsible adults. If students are having difficulty or want additional information it is their responsibility to seek out the instructor. Instructors have posted office hours or contact procedures when students can come to see them for help or discussion.

Homework

College classes demand an average of at least two (2) hours of homework for each hour of class time. Total time commitment for a five (5) credit class will be approximately fifteen (15) hours a week. There may be no classroom time for homework.

Academic Standards

The College has an Academic Standards Policy for Running Start students. Students are required to both successfully complete all classes in which they are enrolled, and also earn a minimum 2.0 grade point average per quarter. Students who do not meet both of these criteria will be placed on academic probation. Students face dismissal from the Running Start Program if they are academically deficient in the following quarter.

Transportation

Transportation to and from campus is your responsibility. Parking is available on campus at no additional charge. Students are required to park in designated student parking areas. Carpooling and Community Transit are recommended because of limited parking facilities. Your EdPass can be used as a free Snohomish Community Transit bus pass. Just ask about it at the EdPass Office.
