Running Start
What does Running Start Cost?
There is no tuition for Running Start students at Edmonds Community College. However, students are required to pay for:
- Admissions fee: $18.35 (one-time fee).
- Books and supplies: about $125 per class per quarter.
- Quarterly Assessment fee: $2.35 per credit
- Student Union Building Fee: 26 cents per credit
- Transportation: EdPass serves as a free Snohomish County Buss Pass; other transportation is student’s responsibility.
- Official Transcripts: $5.50 per copy. Needed for self-paid classes or to include with college applications.
- Program Completion Fee: $28.80. The fee must be paid prior to submitting a graduation application. The fee is good for one year from the date of payment and the fee will cover multiple degrees and certificates completed within the one year.
Note: All fees are subject to change.
Running Start does operate a very small Book Loaning Library for students who qualify for the Free/Reduced Lunch program at their high school. Download the application below, print it out, and return it to the Running Start Office with appropriate documentation by the deadline for each quarter listed on the top of the application.
