Worker Retraining
... It Really Works!
The Worker Retraining Program is designed to help you acquire the skills and training needed for today's jobs. The program is a partnership between the Employment Security Department and the Washington State Community Colleges.
You are eligible for services if you meet one of the following criteria:
- Facing a layoff
- Currently collecting unemployment benefits
- Exhausted unemployment benefits within the past 24 months and remain unemployed
- Displaced homemaker (recently separated or divorced)
- Self-employed but now unemployed
- Employed, but vulnerable to dislocation
Training available:
Training is available throughout our professional/technical programs offered at Edmonds Community College. You can pursue a degree or certificate or take classes to upgrade skills. Courses are available day, evening, and online.
Worker Retraining Program offers:
- Tuition and Book Assistance
- Career Counseling
- Early Registration
- Onsite Employment Security Representative
- Job search support
- Assistance with Trade Act Paperwork
