College Logo Guidelines
The Edmonds Community College logo is the identifier for the college. It is designed to be used as one unit, not as separate letterforms or elements. The letterforms in the logo should not be substituted with a typeface. Reproducing the logo from official artwork helps insure that all publications reflect the identity of the college.
The Edmonds Community College logo has positive and reverse versions. The positive version is for use on light backgrounds, and the reverse version is for use on dark backgrounds. The positive and reverse versions are not the same and should not be manually reversed. Avoid this error by using only approved electronic artwork.
Shown below are examples of incorrect usage of the logo. Explanations are listed below each example.
| Do not use as a repeating background element. | Do not apply over a background so dark that the logo’s image is obscured. | Do not apply over a cluttered background that degrades and confuses the logo. |
| Do not apply over a divided background that transects and confuses its image. | Do not extrude or distort the logo. This makes it illegible. | Do not apply over an uneven background. |
| Do not change the proportion of the logo. | Do not change the typeface within the logo. | Do not use the logo in an outline form. |
| Do not apply exaggerated drop shadows that impair legibility. | Do not add a border to the logo | Do not fill the logo with more than one color |
