Creating a Flyer or Postcard

Need a flyer or postcard in 1 or 2 days?
We created templates to make it easy for you to create your own flyer. It's simple. Choose a design and type in your text.

  • Create a flyer online
  • Create postcards for your program. It takes just a few minutes to create a print piece with the latest up-to-date information about your program to hand out to current or potential students. Think about information you can add about open houses, reminders, events or new classes.
  • Or, do it yourself. Get templates and an example here.

Things to think about when arranging photos

We'll take the photos, but need your help to find the subjects, classrooms and students. There's more to this than it may seem. The photos will be a big part of the message of your brochure. It's important they convey the same intention as the text. We need your help to get great pictures. Please keep these things in mind when selecting subjects and arranging photos:

  • He/she's got the look. Choose students you want to represent your program and reflect the diversity of our college. The students should be someone other students can relate to and see as a role model. The students should have charisma and great smiles - and be enthusiastic about your program. Being comfortable in front of camera helps too!

  • Permission. Keep in mind that we need permission from students we photograph for promotion. Ask students and classrooms ahead of time if it is OK to photograph them and give them some warning. We will have them fill out release forms when we arrive.

  • Semi-staging. Candid photos of a classroom or workshop and permissions from everyone in attendance can be tough to get. Good pictures usually require people to stand closer together than they actually do. For group shots, it works best to choose 3-5 students who are good representatives and are willing to be photographed and have them sit near each other. We can then take candid pictures of that group during the class or workshop or we can stage some shots with that group.

  • Enthusiastic, smart, genuine. If we also need a quote from a student about your program, in addition to being photogenic and a good representative of the program the student should be serious and enthusiastic about the program. In other words, if a friend stopped this person on the street and asked them about the college, the person would have good things to say about the program.
