AAS Degree Option II in Physics

Classes selected from the following list will prepare you to transfer to most four-year colleges or universities where you can complete your work for a degree in Physics. The exact courses you will have to take depend on your proposed major and your transfer school. You should consult with an Edmonds Community College Physics advisor for a detailed schedule tailored to your needs. This planning sheet is subject to change and is unofficial. Notes:

1. All of the science classes at EdCC have an English prerequisite.

2. Chem 131 permit cards are given after passing the Chemistry Placement test or Chem 110.

3. All prerequisites should be passed with at least a grade of 2.0.

4. Students should contact the Department of Physics at the school or university they plan to attend and coordinate their recommendations with those of their EdCC advisor. You may need to take more or fewer courses than shown above.

5. Students should plan their schedule several quarters in advance, and then check this schedule with their advisor. Be aware that some classes have prerequisites and some are offered only certain quarters.

6. To get an AAS degree, your credits need to add up to at least 90 credits. See the next page for minimum course requirements.

7. UW requires 2 quarters of foreign language before admission and 3 quarters to graduate.

8. Prerequisites that can be taken concurrently are denoted by an asterisk (*).

Some courses are only offered selected quarters:
