Students completing photography courses should be able to:

• Identify and use an analog and/or digital camera controls including aperture,
  shutter speed, film speed, depth of field, film loading

• Apply color theory to digital imaging applications

• Demonstrate strong composition through the application of the rule of thirds

• Demonstrate an artistic and photographic vocabulary when writing or talking about photography

• Apply journalism techniques to communicate a story with photographic images

• Demonstrate the ability to give and receive constructive criticism of photographs

• Learn about current and past photographers and the genre of their work

• Apply knowledge of the commercial applications of photography
