Sign up for volleyball and basketball summer camps at Edmonds Community College
Release Date: June 29th, 2012Lynnwood, Wash.— Edmonds Community College offers basketball and volleyball camps this summer in Seaview Gym, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood.
Kyle Gray, the college’s new men’s basketball coach, leads the basketball camp. Gray is also a physical education teacher at Viewlands Elementary School in Seattle.
The basketball camp will be:
July 16-20 — Triton Youth Basketball Camp, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Mon.-Thurs. and 9 a.m.-noon, Fri., for boys and girls ages 7-18 of all skill levels. $175, includes a T-shirt and basketball.
Edmonds Community College coach Danielle Orong leads the volleyball camps. Orong has 13 years of coaching experience and also coaches Island Thunder Volleyball Club on Mercer Island.
The volleyball camps will be:
July 30-Aug. 2 — Youth All-Skills Camp, 9 a.m.-noon, for girls and boys grades 3-7. Players learn the fundamentals from Edmonds Community College coaches and players. $100, includes a camp T-shirt.
Aug. 6-9 — High School Tryout Prep All-Skills Camp, 9 a.m.-noon, Aug. 6-9, for high school female athletes, grades 8-12. Players step up their game and add to their offensive and defensive skills by participating in various drills and activities. $100, includes a camp T-shirt.
Aug. 3 — Hitters’ Camp, 10 a.m.-noon, for all ages. Get extra reps. $50
Aug. 10 — Setters’ Camp, 10 a.m.-noon, for all ages. Get extra reps. $50

Our college fields seven teams for the Northwest Athletics Association of Community Colleges — men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and softball — as well as intramural sports. The college’s facilities include Triton Field, multi-use turf opened in 2011, and Seaview Gym. Scholarships are available for student-athletes.
