International Education Week
Date: November 12th, 2012
International Education Week celebrates the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. International education programs prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. About 1,300 international students from 70 countries attend Edmonds Community College and the college offers global opportunities including study abroad and modern language studies for resident students.

Tues., Nov. 13 | Students Abroad info sessions
12:45-1:15 p.m. and 1:30-2 p.m. | Brier Hall 233
Learn about short and long term opportunities to travel/study abroad. Find out what programs are available, funding resources, earning transfer credit, and more! Destinations include: Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, Northern Europe, China, Japan, Australia/New Zealand, South Africa.
Wed., Nov. 14 | Snohomish Hall 304 | Panel Discussions
2-2:40 p.m. | Students abroad session
Edmonds CC study abroad students to Spain and Costa Rica, an international student from Germany, and two Northwest Community College Initiative students from Brazil and South Africa talk about their study abroad experiences.
2:50-3:30 p.m. | How to foster international understanding in the classroom
3:40-4:20 p.m. | Leading short term programs abroad
4:30-5:20 p.m. | Reception with light refreshments
During the panel, there will also be a study abroad table to distribute information to interested students and information tables about campus resources.
Thurs., Nov. 15 | International Country Fair
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. | Brier Hall Lobby
Join our Northwest Community College Initiative students as they showcase their countries! Each country will be represented by displays with food, music, and entertainment. Countries include: Brazil, India, Indonesia, Turkey, South Africa, Pakistan, Egypt, and Panama.
