Edmonds Community College invites students and their parents to a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Open House 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12 in Woodway Hall 202.
Participants should register by Feb. 3 through an online form on the Edmonds CC website.
Students will have the opportunity to:
• Learn about STEM and campus resources,
• Explore the benefits of choosing a community college, and
• Explore STEM facilities, equipment, and opportunities.
There will also be a Q&A with a student panel, demonstrations, exploration of campus resource booths, and refreshments.
In the past 10 years, STEM jobs have grown three times faster than non-STEM jobs. Edmonds Community College is providing more opportunities for STEM students. The college has received 19 National Science Foundation grants, and three latest grants of more than $1.5 million over five years mean more support services and scholarships for students in STEM fields.
