Freee Digital Forensics and Data Recovery seminar March 16

Have you ever wondered what can be retrieved from your computer, even after your Internet history and cache have been deleted? If so, that might be one reason to attend a digital forensics seminar 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 16 in Meadowdale Hall 124, Edmonds Community College, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood. Admission is free to the public, but registration is required.

Edmonds CC is the only college in the state offering this seminar, to be conducted by Edmonds CC instructor Steven Hailey. Participants can learn about Information Security and Digital Forensics careers, tour the college's clean room, and learn how data is recovered from hard drives that have been in floods and fires, or purposefully rendered inoperable.

In addition, Hailey will discuss a case of credit card fraud and identity theft he worked on for law enforcement.

The college began offering its Information Security and Digital Forensics Associate of Technical Arts degree in 2005 to meet the growing demand nationwide for cyber security expertise. The college also offers a certificate in Digital Forensics.
