Dreger helped develop a number of college programs which are still being taught today. She helped start the first computer labs on campus, helped develop the first desktop publishing courses at the college, and taught some of the college's first online courses. She wrote and published one of the first books written on word processing. The book was widely used and helped define how computer technology skills would be taught.
