Math 251: Multivariate Calculus

Course Description
Math 251 is a fourth-quarter calculus course that follows Math 153. Topics in Math 251 include: applications of partial differentiation; multiple integration; vector fields; line and surface integrals; Green's Theorem; Stokes' Theorem; the Divergence Theorem; and applications.

Generally, students studying engineering, science and mathematics. You should consult the planning sheet for your program and consult an advisor to determine if this course is required.
Who is eligible to take this course?
The prerequisite for this course is Math 153 with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
Is this course transferable?
This course transfers to the University of Washington as UW Math 324; consult an advisor or see the Transfer Center to determine transferability to other institutions.
What textbook is used for this course?
The fifth edition of Calculus: Early Transcendentals by James Stewart, which is also used for Math 151, Math 152 and Math 153.
What else is required for this course?
Students are required to have a graphing calculator; the TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus is recommended.
