- New Course: Math 144
- Fall Quarter EdCC is offering Math 144 (Precalculus I&II) for the first time.
This class is designed for students who have previously studied the material covered in Math 141
and Math 142 in high school and to refresh their skills before attempting college-level calculus.
- Student Math League Contest
- The first installment of the AMATYC Student Math League contest for 2011–2012 takes place
this Friday, October 21, at 12:30 p.m. in SQL 203. Pizza and drinks will be available after the one-hour, multiple-choice contest concludes.

familiarize yourself with the format.

- Are you interested in pursuing a career or degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)?
Edmonds Community College has two new projects, RISE (Relationships in Science Education) and EdSTEM$ (Edmonds CC STEM Scholarships),
to help STEM students be successful in their classes and achieve their academic and career goals. As a RISE or EdSTEM$ Scholar,
you’ll have access to faculty mentors, study rooms with tutors, industry and academic field trips, STEM cohort classes and seminars,
undergraduate research opportunities, and many other resources designed to enhance your learning experiences and to provide the support
needed to help you attain success. In addition, EdSTEM$ scholars can earn scholarships of up to $5000 per year (must demonstrate
financial need for scholarships).

Applications are due by November 4, 2011, for first consideration. Completion of FAFSA required for EdSTEM$ scholarship.
