INTERLIBRARY LOANS

- As Edmonds CC students search various databases they may find that some books or magazine articles are not available in-house, but are available from other libraries. Our library can initiate an interlibrary loan to other libraries for the items. An Interlibrary Loan usually has a turnaround time between 2 and 3 weeks. Interlibrary Loans can be requested at the library's Reference desk. View Library Interlibrary Loan Policy. Note: Central Washington University students can now request interlibrary loan materials through Central's website at http://www.lib.cwu.edu/ill/ill.html

RESERVES

- Reserve materials are faculty-selected items that are expected to have heavy use by students in the class. These materials usually have shorter circulation periods than the regular materials. Reserve materials are available at the library's Circulation desk. For additional information please see the Library Reserve Policy: Students.

4TH FLOOR QUIET STUDY

- The fourth floor of the Library is now a designated quiet zone encompassing the entire open area of the 4th floor, five quiet groups study rooms and a large quiet study room.  In order to maintain the quiet environment, students are asked to refrain from taking cell phone calls on the fourth floor.

PHOTOCOPIER

- One public photocopier is available on the 3rd floor of the library. Copies cost 10 cents and the machine does accept dollar bills.

CAMPUS WIRELESS NETWORK

- The Campus Wireless Network is available in the Edmonds Community College Library and other areas on campus. This wireless network provides access for personal notebook computers and other wireless-accessible technology to the Library Catalog and most Edmonds CC websites, including the main college web site, the Blackboard distance learning site, and the primary Central Washington University web site. Click here for instructions on connecting to the Campus Wireless Network.

The Library also provides data jacks to connect personal notebook computers without wireless access to the Campus network. Please see Circulation or Reference staff for the location of the study tables with activated data jacks.

If you have any questions about connecting to the Campus Wireless Network contact Academic Computer Services at acs@edcc.edu or 425-640-1702. The Wireless service has been funded by a grant from ASEdCC Technology funds.

GROUP STUDY ROOMS

- The group study rooms at Edmonds Community College Library provide students with a meeting space for study and discussion with their fellow students.  There are eight group study rooms in the library:  three on the third floor and five on the fourth floor.  The five group study rooms on the fourth floor are first come, first served; the three group study rooms on the third floor require advance reservations.

Guidelines for reserving the third floor group study rooms:

  • Rooms are reserved in person at the Circulation Desk.  Students reserving the room must show staff their Ed Pass with a current sticker.  Reservations cannot be made by phone.
  • Rooms can be reserved up to one week in advance.  Each new week begins on Monday.
  • Rooms can be reserved for a maximum of two hours per day.  If a group’s two hour limit is up and the next block of time is open, that group can remain in the room.
  • A group can reserve a room for a maximum of four hours per week.
  • If a group doesn’t show up after 15 minutes, the reservation is cancelled and the room is available to another group.
