What Our Students Say About University Transfer

From Edmonds CC to Cornell University

"Studying in Edmonds CC was a valuable experience. It helped me to adapt to the new American culture. One thing that I learned is to take initiative. You may get it if you ask for it, or you will never have a chance. I think this helped me prepare for upcoming challenges, not only in my further studies, but also in my career"

From Edmonds CC to the University of California, Berkeley

I came to Edmonds Community College for spring quarter 2001.I was going to major in tourism, and a study-abroad agency recommended Edmonds CC because it has a great program in Tourism. I took ESL for 2 quarters. I truly enjoyed studying in ESL. I think that is a good starting point to get used to American education and American life.

From Edmonds CC to Hawaii Pacific University

I chose Edmonds CC because I had a great impression when I visited the international student office (ISS). I met a French girl that answered all of my questions, based on her experience. It made me feel confident about my choice. As a result, I applied to Edmonds CC and began attending classes in the Fall of 2002.

Meryl Gourmand

From Edmonds CC to the University of Buffalo

My major was accounting. I studied in Edmonds CC for six quarters. Although ESL class is more fun, I like college classes as well. Compared to the university I am attending, the size of EdCC’s college classes is smaller and professors are more accessible. I could easily find help whenever I needed it.

My first quarter at the University of Washington… Student impressions

“ Edmonds CC is a great place to come to improve your English and become used to the American culture. You can really get to know people when you are in a small school like this one. I still live in Lynnwood because the rent in Seattle or near the University of Washington is really expensive. At Edmonds CC the teachers are really good and they prepared me well for my engineering classes. They were tough, but I learned a lot.”
