English Requirements
English proficiency is not a requirement to be accepted. However, students who receive the following minimum scores within the last year, will place into college and be assigned English 100 or English for Academic Purposes (EAP) classes. College placement allows students to take regular college classes in addition to English.
Regardless of a qaulifying test score, all students will still need to take the Edmonds Community College English placement test upon arrival.

For test scores below these levels, placement will be determined by the student's score on the Edmonds Community College English placement test given upon arrival. A sample of the ACCUPLACER Placement test is available for practice prior to arrival.
HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCIES FOR ADMISSIONS
Our admissions policy states that to be eligible, students must be 16 years old or a high school graduate. Completion of the following is considered as having graduated from high school.
“O” level - (students usually out of Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesian high schools). Students enrolled in the “O” level at the time of application are required to submit a letter from the current school verifying enrollment in O level and graduation date from this level.
“A” level - (students usually out of Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesian high schools). Students enrolled in the “A” level at the time of application are required to submit a letter from the current school verifying enrollment in “A” level and graduation date from this level.
Completion of grade 11 in China.
Form 4 for Hong Kong and Macau.
