Speaking/Listening:  Partners in the Community

Partners in the Community is for Level 4 or Level 5 students who want to get more experience with American culture and language.  This class is best for students who have completed all Level 3 classes.   Students must be responsible and independent learners.

Students meet in the classroom and also do volunteer work in the community.  Example volunteer sites include a preschool, an elementary school, and a home for older people.

In Partners in the Community, you will

• work together with other students in a group project to learn about the local community
• do volunteer work (6 hours per week) in the community
• write a journal about your volunteer experiences
• participate in group discussions
• give presentations
