For many years, Edmonds Community College faculty and staff have been highly successful at generating public and private revenue to best serve our students and our community. Our grant-funded programs allow us to give our students the best possible opportunities for support, preparation for employment and transfer to four-year institutions, and intellectual rigor.
It is particularly noteworthy that during a period of rising tuition, Edmonds Community College has excelled in seeking and receiving funds for scholarships and assistance for low-income students, for increasing minority, immigrant and refugee students' access to the college, and for collaborating with local high schools. Title III Strengthening Institutions Grant
Drawing on findings of the self-study accreditation process and recommendations from a Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) visit in 2008, members of the Institutional Effectiveness Advisory Committee developed a plan to improve systematic research, evaluation, and planning processes.
This plan was used to develop and submit a Title III proposal to the U.S. Department of Education that resulted in a five-year, $1.92 million Strengthening Institutions grant awarded within months of the completed accreditation visit. The grant began on Oct. 1, 2008. For more information, contact Beth Nichols.
