Edmonds Community College Foundation
Scholarships
THE DEADLINE FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS WAS APRIL 16 AT 4:00 P.M.
Notification letters will be sent out in the beginning of June.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - You must read and follow these instructions in order to complete a scholarship application!
What are the requirements?
- Applications MUST be completed by the applicant. Under no circumstances can parents, teachers or counsellors complete a scholarship application for a student. No scholarship or applicant information will be discussed with or released to anyone other than the applicant, pursuant with FERPA regulations.
- Scholarship criteria vary, however, most scholarships are for individuals with financial need. Scholarships are available for both full-time and part-time students. International students are welcome to apply. Some scholarships are for specific areas of study or for individuals with specific backgrounds or needs. Please see scholarship listing for details. Applicants will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible, assuming all pertinent and required materials are included.
- If awarded a scholarship, recipients must return a signed agreement and a thank you letter prior to the funds being released. The Foundation must receive these no later than a date to be announced or the scholarship funds will be forfeited. The Foundation is not responsible for the loss of funds due to the student's lack of fulfilling of this requirement, so please plan accordingly. In addition, the recipient MAY be asked to attend a 30 minute meeting, times to be announced to all successful candidates.
- Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5, unless otherwise noted. Some scholarships require a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Certain scholarship recipients will be required to meet with the donors who make scholarships possible. Recipients will be notified about the date as soon as possible, if applicable.
- If these requirements are not satisfied, the Foundation reserves the right to revoke scholarship funds for future quarters.
What scholarships are available?
Here is a list of available scholarships. Different scholarships have different criteria. These range from gender to program of study. The application asks questions such as your race and if you have or are recovering from a mental illness because some donors have designated their scholarship donation for students in those specific categories. Be sure to answer all questions honestly, as scholarships are available for all types of people. Please note that students will be disqualified from being awarded ALL scholarships if it is found that they have misrepresented themselves in any way.
