Financial Aid Quick Start:

1. The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
   • This is a federal application. It is not processed by our office.
   • You will receive a letter or email from the federal processor confirming submission of the FAFSA. This is NOT your award notification.
   • We upload 2012-13 FAFSA’s from the federal processor twice each week starting the first week of March 2012.
2. After we upload your FAFSA, we send you an email letting you know if other forms, documents or processes are needed to complete your file.
3. Complete all processes, and submit all forms, documents and information we ask for. We will not review your paperwork until all required items have been received. Our forms and links to processes are located on this website. Click on forms to the left.
4. As part of completing your file, do the Online Financial Aid Information Session right away. The Information Session will tell you how and when we process and award your file and how we disburse your funds to you.

5. Take the following steps to receive a federal Direct Student loan:
   • Complete the loan section on the Financial Aid Information Sheet, or use the Information Change form.
   • If this is the first time you have taken out a Direct Loan, you must complete the Online Loan (Entrance) counseling session, and
   • Sign your Promissory Note online using your Federal PIN – this is the PIN you used when your signed your FAFSA.
6. Check the Financial Aid Home page often for estimated dates on when your file may be processed and awarded.
7. The Home page also has a link to the Financial Aid Portal. Use the Portal to:
   • Confirm we have received the paperwork, and information you have submitted to our office, and completed required processes.
   • View your financial aid awards once your file has been processed.
8. To ask questions about your file and financial aid processes, use the online Support Request System. This is also accessed on our Home Page.
