PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY!

The staff of the Equity & Diversity Center recently visited Pikes Place Market as part of their

training on Fish Philosophy (learning to work together as a team).  They learned a lot on this

professional development trip and would love to share their experiences with you and what they

learned.  Please stop by and ask them about this.

 

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES:

Volunteering opportunities also available!  Now seeking volunteers to help ESL students learn to

better their English speaking skills.  Commitment of only one hour per week!  Please stop

by and we will answer all your questions!

Have you gained any skills/awareness/knowledge when getting involed at EDC?

Yes, learned a lot about people and helping. Respect, patience, helping people is better than doing anything [else]. I gained my skills when I had a conversation partner and book club. Improved diversity relations. Staff is friendly.

How would you describe your experience at EDC?

Sweet. Very helpful!! I love this place when [I] need help-they are there to assist. Excellent-people staff. Necessary for social development.

What services would you like added?

More resources - books, movies, etc. It's all pretty informative. Everything's good. Make it bigger. Homeless services. Diversity.
