Please come in and visit our Center - Everyone is Welcome! SUPPORT: Our Center provides one-on-one support and encouragement to students and orientation to other college services such as financial aid, tutoring, student employment and counseling. Limited scholarships and emergency funds are also available from our Center. CLUBS & LEADERSHIP: Want to get involved? Our ethnic student clubs plan educational, social and cultural events on campus. Make new friends and have fun by joining one of our student associations. WORKSHOPS/CONFERENCES: D.A.T.E. in the T.U.B. - (Diverse Avant-garde Talk Experience in the Triton Union Building). Each quarter we host a diversity event and bring in exciting speakers to talk about their experiences with diversity. Watch this website or for posters on campus for further information. Students of Color Conference/NCORE Every year, we sponsor students to attend the annual, statewide Students of Color Conference and NCORE, which provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills and discuss ethnic issues with other college students. Please check our "Conferences/Workshops" page for specifics on these conferences. Local High School Outreach The Equity and Diversity Center reaches out to high school students by sponsoring high school students of color from the Edmonds School District. Together, we have partnered to help prepare students for life after high school. PROGRAMS: Peer Mentoring Programs Our Peer Mentoring Program has been matching students with staff and faculty since 1991. The program's goals are to foster relationships that will help students understand college life and be successful in their college experience. Sign up in the Equity and Diversity Center. Study Assistance Having a hard time in your classes? We provide limited study assistance. Please come into our Center for further information. Conversation Partner Program Do you want to improve your English in a conversational setting? The Conversation Partner Program has successfully matched students with English as a second language with staff/volunteers to improve your conversational skills. Computer Lab & Student Area The Equity and Diversity Center provides computers with Internet access for students to use, as well as a comfortable area to study. |
