EdCAP
Admission
What is EdCap?
EdCAP provides young adults (16-21) with an opportunity to earn a high school diploma in a college environment. Students have the option to explore classes that will give them a jump start towards one of our many professional technical programs. Career planning, development and EdCAP Success classes are key components. Tuition, books and bus transportation are provided at no cost to the student.
When do I apply?
Students may begin the program fall, winter, or spring quarter. Some funding for currently enrolled EdCAP students may be available for summer quarter classes. Students need to check with their EdCAP Case Manager about available funding.
We are now accepting applications for Winter Quarter. Students applying for Winter Quarter 2010 may pick up EdCAP applications in Mukilteo Hall, Room 403. If you have questions, please call 425-640-1593.
Is EdCAP easier than "regular" high school?
No! The expectations for attendance and adult behavior are high in the EdCAP program. We expect that only students who have the motivation and maturity to succeed in a college environment apply.
What is the cost?
Tuition and bus passes on local community transit are provided free. Textbooks are provided at no charge for students.
What classes will I take in EdCAP?
EdCAP students are enrolled their first two quarters in specialized courses to teach them strategies for success in order to build a strong foundation of goal setting, organizational skills, time management, and critical thinking skills. In addition, students take other courses in English, math, history, etc. which apply towards their high school diploma requirements and/or help them enter a prof-tech program, if they select one.
