dbTech Associate of Technical Arts (ATA)

This degree is designed for individuals with experience or prior training in Information Technology who wish to augment their current occupation or acquire new abilities to advance their job skills and qualifications. The courses included in this degree are available during the day; the evening and some courses are online.

Acquiring this degree will provide graduates with skills to attain positions that require them to use, create, maintain, analyze and program databases. The core courses provide a foundation in data resource management. A student will complete the degree with a series of elective courses in related areas (specializations) as approved by a CIS adviser. Topics available in the related / specialized studies include:

  • Business Data Specialist
    • Basic marketing techniques and strategies
    • Business data process techniques and strategies
    • The techniques and strategies used for business process analysis
  • Enterprise Analyst
    • Strategies for enterprise application integration
    • The techniques for business process analysis
    • What are enterprise architecture planning strategies and methods
    • How to perform business analysis for data warehousing projects
  • Database Developer
    • Strategies and techniques of forms development
    • How does one determine report requirements
    • Report development techniques and strategies
    • Developing good graphical user interfaces

Individuals completing this degree will qualify for employment in database design, development, programming, analysis, and business, as well as information technology management.
