Community Resource Information

Resource referral assistance information, Brochures, and Handouts are available through the Edmonds Community College Counseling and Resource Center (Mountlake Terrace Hall, Room 145) on a wide variety of topics. Here is a partial listing of the type of information available, including the Community Key resource database:

  • ABUSE: Including Domestic Violence, Sexual Harassment, Child Abuse, Rape
  • AIDS: Prevention, Testing and Support
  • ALCOHOL/DRUGS: Treatment, Support, and Recovery Groups for Adults & Teens
  • ANGER MANAGEMENT: Handouts with information on local classes
  • ANXIETY: Including Test Anxiety
  • CAREER PLANNING: Career Planning Tip brochures, referral to career classes on campus; Interest and Personality Inventories( including the Strong Interest Inventory, Myers Briggs Type Indicator, and Discover Guidebook)
  • CAREGIVERS: Referral to Support groups, Classes and Community Resources
  • CHILDCARE: Handouts with area childcare centers, funding sources for students, and information on how to choose childcare
  • CHILDREN: Community resources for Clothing, Food, Childcare, Medical and Dental Care, Parenting Classes and Support Groups
  • CLOTHING: New and used, free or low-cost, including Working Wardrobe and vouchers.
  • COUNSELING REFERRALS: Data base (TRAD) containing local Therapist information including fees and specialties
  • CREDIT: Referrals to credit counseling and information on debt, bankruptcy, etc.
  • CRISIS: Information on dealing with crisis and traumatic events
  • DENTAL: Referral to free or low cost dental services for adults and children.
  • DIVORCE: Referral to Support groups, Workshops and Legal advice
  • FAMILY/PARENTING: Information on Family Counseling, local Family Support Services and benefits available; local Parenting classes
  • FOOD: Handouts on local food banks & hot meal locations
  • GRIEF: Handouts on dealing with grief and referral to services available
  • HEALTH & RECOVERY: Information on Eating Disorders, Alcoholism, AIDS, STD's, Mental Health and other health matters
  • HEALTH INSURANCE: Information and applications for Health Insurance. Referral to services in the community for those who might not qualify for insurance
  • HOLIDAYS: Information on food, gifts, and meals available in the area
  • HOUSING/SHELTER: Information on obtaining housing assistance, referral to area shelters, resources for emergency funds for housing and bills.
  • IMMIGRATION: Referral to services for refugees and immigrant women, including legal consultations, counseling, and information on immigration
  • LEGAL: Referral to a variety of free or low-cost legal information services. Information on area attorneys, dispute resolution, support enforcement and legal clinics
  • ONLINE RESOURCES: "Community Key" Databases for Community Resources in King and Snohomish Counties
  • PREGNANCY: Referral for birth control, adoption, support payments, furniture, baby needs, and shelters; information on local pregnancy testing
  • SENIORS: Community resources available for seniors
  • SUPPORT GROUPS: On-line resources to locate support groups available for a variety of issues
