Commencement 2003
This year 1,767 degrees and certificates were earned by students ages 17 to 63 at the college. The types of degrees earned were split nearly evenly three-ways: a slight majority were college transfer degrees, a third were career degrees or certificates and a third were GED, high school or basic education programs.
Student commencement speakers Cheryl Honey and Pam LaVergne are both single mothers who overcame challenges such as poverty and mental illness to attend college and now plan to use their educations to assist others in similar situations.
This year’s keynote speaker was Rick Steves owner of Europe Through the Back Door.
President Jack Oharah provided the Welcoming Speech.
