Q. What is In-store Buyback?
A. Each quarter, the College Store hosts an In-store Buyback. In-store Buyback gives College Store customers the opportunity to sell used textbooks that they no longer need to an independent book company that sets up their business in the College Store for a set number of days. Q. When is the next In-store Buyback?
A. Generally, In-store Buyback occurs during Finals week and during the first week of the quarter. In-store Buyback dates for each quarter are posted throughout the campus as well as posted on the College Store Hours and Events pages.
Q. Where do I bring my books to sell them back?
A. In-store Buyback takes place at the College Store Buyback Window which is located in Brier Hall. Please note: A valid student photo ID card is required for all In-store Buyback transactions. If you do not have your student photo ID and would like to participate in In-store Buyback, please visit our In-Store Buyback Policies page for more information. Q. How do I know which textbooks I can sell back?
A. Bring in any textbooks that you wish to sell. The Buyback representative at the College Store Buyback Window will scan the back of each of the books and let you know which ones they can buy back from you.
Q. How much money will I get when I sell a book at In-store Buyback?
A. In order to receive pricing information for In-store Buyback, all books must be brought to the buyback representative at the College Store Buyback Window when In-store Buyback is taking place. No In-store Buyback prices can be given out over the telephone or via e-mail.
Q. Do I need a receipt for In-store Buyback?
A. No. In-store Buyback is an opportunity to sell your book back--no receipt is required.
Q. Are all textbooks bought back?
A. Unfortunately not. If a book has been badly damaged, water damaged, or is missing pages it will not be bought back. Also, if the book was originally published for one-time-use only due to either the nature of the book or the binding of the book (i.e. workbooks, duplicated packets, etc.) it may not be bought back. And finally, if the publisher has released a new edition, old editions will have no value. Other restrictions may apply as well.
Q. I don't live in the area. Can I ship my books to the store for In-store Buyback?
A. Unfortunately, we cannot accept books shipped to the store for In-store Buyback. |
