PACE-IT: Progressive, Accelerated Certifications for Employment in Information Technology

The program will offer individualized instruction and services for adult learners to support the diverse needs and backgrounds of the Trade Adjustment Assistance-population in the King-Snohomish area. The innovative, self-paced training model will use instructors as mentors who will guide students online or face-to-face. Employers will serve as subject matter experts — intricately involved in curriculum design and instructional support. Navigators will ensure that students are accessing the supports needed to overcome barriers and find jobs. An on campus technology lab catering to online students will provide a place for problem-solving activities, learning assistance, access to technology and networking. Students will have the option to be placed in information technology internships, job shadow IT practitioners or work on project-based learning assignment. The grant is part of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training initiative and so you may also see it referred to as a TAACCCT grant,
