Do you know that you need to take chemistry but aren't sure which class is right for you? This page provides some basic information about the different chemistry courses offered at Edmonds CC. Chem &110 Appropriate for students who need general science credit with lab. NOT appropriate for science majors and engineers. NOT a prerequisite for Bio &211. Prerequisites: Placement into both ENGL &101 and MATH 90.
Chem &121 For students in allied health fields (nursing, dental hygiene). May also be used to meet general science requirements. NOT appropriate for science majors and engineers. MAY serve as a prerequisite for Bio &211 with permission of instructor. Prerequisites: Placement into both ENGL &101 and MATH 090.
Chem &131   For students in allied health fields (nursing, dental hygiene). NOT appropriate for science majors and engineers. Prerequisite: CHEM &121 or instructor's permission and placement into ENGL &101.
Chem &139   For students who need to enroll in Chem &141 but have had no previous chemistry background. NOT a prerequisite for Bio &211. Prerequisites: Concurrent enrollment in MATH 090, and placement in ENGL &101.
Chem &141   For science majors and engineers. Prerequisites: 1. Completion of Chemistry &139 with a grade of 2.0 or better or a passing grade on the placement exam, available in the testing center. 2. MATH &141 with a grade of 2.0 or better or concurrent enrollment. 3. Placement into ENGL &101.
Chem &142   For science majors and engineers. Continuation of Chem &141. Some schools may require completion of the entire series in order to receive credit. Prerequisites: CHEM &141 and MATH &141 with grades of 2.0 or higher.
Chem &143     For science majors and engineers. Continuation of Chem &142. Some schools may require completion of the entire series in order to receive credit. Prerequisites: CHEM &142 with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
Chem &241       For science majors and students pursuing admission to various professional schools ( medical, dental, pharmacy etc.). Prerequisite: CHEM &143 with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
Chem &242       For science majors and students pursuing admission to various professional schools ( medical, dental, pharmacy etc.) Prerequisite: CHEM &241 with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
Chem &243       For science majors and students pursuing admission to various professional schools ( medical, dental, pharmacy etc.) Prerequisite: CHEM &242 with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
