Head Volleyball Coach: Jason Davis
Edmonds Community College announced the hiring of Jason Davis as volleyball head coach on Monday, December 3, 2012. Davis has been an assistant coach for the Lady Tritons for two seasons. EdCC has shown tremendous improvement during that time, finishing tied for fourth in the NWAACC North in 2012 and reaching a tie-breaker playoff game.
"I am very excited for the opportunity to coach at Edmonds Community College,” said Davis. “There is a great group of student athletes here and I believe we can build this program together. I am up for the challenge and look forward to helping build a successful volleyball program here."
Davis has been coaching at various levels since 2003, starting with club teams in Spokane. He currently runs and is the head coach for the Northend Inferno Volleyball Club based out of Mukilteo. He is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, is USA Volleyball Impact certified and is a Gold Medal Squared trained coach.
Davis, who grew up in the Lynnwood/ Edmonds area, earned an Associate’s Degree from Spokane Falls Community College in 2005. He moved on to the University of Washington where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration for the Michel G. Foster Business School with a dual concentration in Marketing and Information Systems.
“After speaking with [former head coach] Danielle Orong and with members of the volleyball team, it was obvious that Jason was the clear choice to take over the program,” said Athletic Director Jorge de la Torre. “His goal is to build Edmonds into a power in the NWACC North. He is also equally committed to making sure that our student-athletes have a positive experience and that they succeed academically.”
