2012 NWAACC North Champions!

Penisula Edges Edmonds 2-0 in NWAACC Semifinals

The Edmonds Tritons gave the Peninsula Pirates quite a game in one of the NWAACC semifinals Saturday night, but eventually fell behind and lost 2-0. EdCC ends the year with a 12-8-3 overall mark. PeC improved to 21-1 and advanced to the finals where they beat Walla Walla 1-0. Full recap>>

Triton Soccer Claims NWAACC Honors

The NWAACC Soccer Awards in. For the men: Zak Naylor named North Player of the Year; Brandon Mitalas is the Coach of the Year. Additionally, Conor McKnight and Austin Portch earn North All-Star honors. On the women's side: EdCC North All-Stars are Annelise Coxeff and Darrian Trisko. Congrats to all!!

Edmonds Tops Columbia Basin in Playoff Tilt

The NWAACC North Champion Triton men's soccer team beat Columbia Basin 1-0 in a NWAACC Quarterfinal playoff game on Saturday, November 10. Zak Naylor scored the game's only goal, taking the ball from Eli Seye off a throw in at the 60th minute. Keeper Andrew McDonald and the EdCC defense did the rest. The Tritons advance to the NWAACC Semifinals at Starfire and will play Penisula at 6:00 pm. If EdCC defeats Penisula, the team advances to the NWAACC title game, Sunday at 3 pm.

Soccer Teams Post Wins Against SVC

Triton soccer posted wins over Skagit Valley. Saturday was a successful twinbill for the Tritons on Saturday, October 20. The Triton ladies posted a 5-0 win over the Cardinals with the men following up with a 3-1 win to complete the sweep.

The EdCC women got two goals from Anna Larmore and single goals from Anelisse Coxeff, Cortney Fredricksen and Darrien Trisko. That makes three wins a row for the Tritons who moved into third place in the NWAACC North standings by one slim point over Shoreline. Only the top three squads advance to the NWAACC playoffs, making this week’s contests against Everett and Shoreline very important. Edmonds is not 7-3-5 overall, 5-2-4 in the NWAACC North.

On the men’s side, it was Kirby Hutto blasting three goals for a hat-trick in the team’s 3-1 win over SVC. The Tritons are 8-6-2 overall but have a stellar 7-2-1 record in the North. The team’s 22 points have them atop the standings, three points in front of Everett. Big game against Everett on Wednesday!

EdCC Continues Unbeaten Streak

October 1 – EdCC wrapped up a very successful month of September with a 3-0 win against Southwest Oregon on Saturday. Zak Naylor scored all three goals for the surging Tritons against the Lakers. Edmonds is currently tied with Everett atop the NWAACC North standings along with Everett Community College.

September did not start well for Coach Brandon Mitalas’s squad which lost at Highline 7-2, before claiming an 8-2 win against Wenatchee Valley. Two more losses followed. The Tritons then registered a tough 0-0 tie at Spokane. That tie was followed by three road triumphs at Pierce, Skagit Valley and South Puget Sound. EdCC returned home to tie Everett 0-0 on Wednesday, the 26^th, and wrapped up the month against Southwest Oregon.

The Tritons head back out on the road with a 4:15 pm tilt at Shoreline on Wednesday, October 3. Two more away matches are next: at Whatcom and at Clark. The men return home on Saturday, October 20, hosting Skagit Valley at 3:30 pm.

Tritons On A Roll

September 20 – After a slow preseason start, the EdCC men’s soccer team has pulled off a pair of league wins and now stand at 2-0-1 in the NWAACC North (3-5-1 overall). Edmonds is atop of the standings along with Everett and Whatcom. What makes the two wins more impressive; however, is that both victories came on the road. On Saturday, September 12, the Tritons defeated Pierce 2-0, with Reilly Cross and Zak Naylor netting goals. On Wednesday, the 19^th, Edmonds topped Skagit Valley 3-1. Scoring for the Tritons was Jacob Henke (25^th min), Guyvenson Shively (38^th min) and Henke again (67^th min). Coach Brandon Mitalas’ squad will try to keep the momentum going when they travel to South Puget Sound on Saturday, September 22.

Eligibility Rules and Requirements

Mens Soccer Eligibility Packet 2012

All participants must have a completed athletic physical and eligibility packet on file with the college prior to participation on Aug. 15.

Athletes must be registered in a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Athletes must have passed a minimum of 12 credit hours the last quarter you were enrolled in college.
Athletes may not participate in one sport more than two seasons.
Athletes must be registered within 20 days from the beginning of the quarter.
To qualify for eligibility to participate in a second (2nd) season of any sport, you must have earned a minimum of 36 credit hours and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.00 during any quarter of participation.
Athletes must be a high school graduate or the class of which you were a member has graduated.
Any time you participate in a regularly scheduled game, match or contest, you will be charged with one year of eligibility in that sport.
Athletes may be declared ineligible if during the sport season you represent any club, organization or team other than your college team.
If you are a transfer from another community college that is a member of the NWAACC, you become eligible for athletic competition after a time lapse of three quarters, exclusive of summer school, after separation from the former college.
If convicted for the use or sale of legend drugs, including anabolic steroids, you will be disqualified from participation in a NWAACC sponsored athletic event or activity for a period of one year.
