Tarrance Tucker Steps Down as Women’s Basketball Coach

March 6 -- Edmonds Community College athletic director Jorge de la Torre announced on Wednesday that Tarrance Tucker resigned his position as women’s basketball head coach. Tucker stated that he needed to spend more time with his growing family. Full Story>>

Triton Basketball Claims Sweep of Shoreline on Sophomore Day

Both Triton basketball teams earned a victory over visiting Shoreline Community College on Saturday. The EdCC women edged the Dolphins 68-67, with the Edmonds men topping SCC 99-80.  The Triton ladies improved to 6-17 overall, 2-10 in NWAACC play. Three Edmonds players scored at least 10 points led by 13 from both Sarah Garinger and LaMonica Jackson. Tania Velasco-Bono chipped in with 12 points. Jackson and Jessica Boyle each pulled in nine rebounds in the one-point thriller. The EdCC men had four players who posted 20 or more points. Shaq McKissic scored 22 and grabbed 17 boards while teammates Ricardo Maxwell, Jordan Diel and Jacob Spade each had 20 points. Saturday was Sophomore Night. EdCC thanked its women players Andrea Berendsen, Mary Boxley, Kayla Wilson and Taylor Magera; as well as Tony Montano, Joey Reavely, Jordan Diel, Jacob Spade and Shaq McKissic for the men.

Tritons Earn First NWAACC Win of the Year

Lynnwood, WA -- The Edmonds Community College women’s basketball team picked up its first NWAACC win of the year on Wednesday, January 23, when the Tritons topped visiting Olympic College 67-54. Full story>>

Triton Ladies Go 1-2 at CBC Crossover

The Edmonds CC women went 1-2 at the CBC Crossover last weekend. The Tritons stumbled in the opener 97-34 despite 10 points from Jasmine McEachin and Sara Garinger. EdCC bounced back with a 68-62 win over Treasure Valley thanks to 16 from McEachin and 14 from Tania Velasco-Bono. Garinger had 13 points and 7 assists with Jessica Boyle adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. The Tritons fell in the fourth-place game to Shoreline 68-55. Garinger posted a team-best 16 points in the loss.


Basketball Teams Split on Saturday

The Edmonds women's basketball team lost its first contest of the season on Saturday, 61-56 to visiting Grays Harbor. The loss drops the Lady Tritons to 3-1 on the year. The EdCC men improved to 5-1 after defeating Blue Mountain 79-76. Shaq McKissic led the team with 28 points and 11 rebounds with Ricardo Maxwell chipping in 21 points.

Tritons are 3-0 to Open 2012-13

Edmonds Community College women's basketball has posted wins in all three games played this year. The Lady Tritons defeated Portland CC twice (67-63, 69-64) and then beat NW Indian 81-43. Leading the way on the scoring end for EdCC during the early going has been Jasmine McEachin and Tania Velasco-Bono. The ladies are deep, however, and are getting contributions from the entire roster. The next home constes for Edmonds is on December 8 when Grays Harbor pays Seaview Gym a visit. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 pm.

Women's Hoops Opens Year Victorious

The Edmonds CC women’s basketball team opened the 2012-13 campaign with a 67-63 win at Portland CC on Saturday, November 17. The Tritons were winless last season but have reloaded under Coach Tarrance Tucker and are expecting a solid year. Picking up that first win is a good start! box score>>

Eligibility Rules and Requirements

  • Athletes must be registered in a minimum of 12 credit hours.
  • Athletes must have passed a minimum of 12 credit hours the last quarter you were enrolled in college.
  • Athletes may not participate in one sport more than two seasons.
  • Athletes must be registered within 20 days from the beginning of the quarter.
  • To qualify for eligibility to participate in a second (2nd) season of any sport, you must have earned a minimum of 36 credit hours and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.00 during any quarter of participation.
  • Athletes must be a high school graduate or the class of which you were a member has graduated.
  • Any time you participate in a regularly scheduled game, match or contest, you will be charged with one year of eligibility in that sport.
  • Athletes may be declared ineligible if during the sport season you represent any club, organization or team other than your college team.
  • If you are a transfer from another community college that is a member of the NWAACC, you become eligible for athletic competition after a time lapse of three quarters, exclusive of summer school, after separation from the former college.
  • If convicted for the use or sale of legend drugs, including anabolic steroids, you will be disqualified from participation in a NWAACC sponsored athletic event or activity for a period of one year.
