Downtown Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk
ArtsNow Gallery Presents:
LACQUER PAINTINGS FROM VIETNAM
BY ARTISTS LE NGOC THANH AND LE DUC HAI
Come and see these beautiful, brightly colored pieces of art!
The lacquer used by Thanh and Hai comes from the sap of any of six species of trees growing in Vietnam. This is mixed with several other materials, the most common being gold and silver leaf. Making a lacquer painting is a long process that can take several months to create, depending on the specific technique of the artist and how many layers of lacquer that are included.
Show runs from March 18 - May 8.
ArtsNow participates in the monthly Edmonds Third Thursday ArtWalk (5-8 pm) with a reception and live performances funded by the EdCC Arts, Culture, and Civic Engagement Initiative.
